Women have been marginalized and oppressed in patriarchal societies for centuries. They are frequently assigned minor roles and delegated obsequious tasks, or worse, they are not required to function at all. Given the long history of patriarchy, it is understandable that women have often been viewed in society as an extension of or companion to men. Thus, they have learned to gradually blend in, to work behind the scenes, and to remain silent in a world dominated by men. However, women's roles have changed dramatically throughout history, thanks to those who advocate for feminism and fight sexism, misogyny, and harassment. Despite calls for equality and women's empowerment, there are still people in some parts of the world who stereotype women, assume they are of lower social status, label women as housewives, or deny them opportunities. Several cultures believe that a woman exists solely to sell, marry, and serve men. We are oblivious to many of the practices because some of us have the privilege of living in a society where women and men play equal roles. Ironically, women who are subjected to stigma, stereotypes, and violence continue to fail to recognize their worth and liberty. Regardless of the colossal obstacles that women have faced and continue to face, no one or nothing will stop them from reaching their full potential. Never doubt a woman's ability to make a difference in this world. Don't live a misogynistic life. Don’t let your inferiority complex swallow you. Would you really let women be trapped in a dark abyss of tunnel – so dim, so dull – symbolizing an existence full of harsh realities? Remember that women continue to make significant contributions that should be acknowledged. Women are aware of their ability to make a difference in the world. They are no longer afraid to expose themselves to the sun. They've realized that the light they've been told to avoid is the warmth they've been missing after so many years of living in the dark. Bathing in this light is not a flaw, and finding pleasure in acknowledgment is not a sin. In today's world, women are the pillars of success. They enter the world as equal partners with men, not as second-class citizens. They try out new ideas and speak up about subjects they were previously hesitant to discuss. Others are motivated by them. Today's daughters are full of hope, believing that they will be able to grow up in a safe environment where they will not be judged for their sexual identity. Women in the modern era are champions, achievers, and innovators. They also have impact, power, as well as a sense of purpose.
What is something you learned about patriarchy and what is something you would like to change about what you learned?
Patriarchy is a term in which it talks about men. It underscores inferiority complex. I believe that this is something to be addressed knowing that we're in a modern era where everybody is welcomed and acknowledged. Everybody should be celebrated, particularly a woman. One thing I would want to change about patriarchy is its dominating aspect. I hate seeing women being oppressed and marginalized in various fields. It's time that they start breaking patriarchy. Feminism should be pursued. The fight against sexism, misogyny, and harassment should be given emphasis.
