The Gender Experiment Kit

Please tell us about your submission (maximum 600 words)

This Kit debunks the myth that there are only two genders, each with their own set of roles to play. It encourages the user to experiment with and reflect on their gender expression through a variety of experiments and introspection. This project was created to address United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11, which is to make cities and human settlements more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. This type of project falls under SDG 11 because only when citizens are empathetic and aware can cities become safe and inclusive for all. It calls into question patriarchal notions of masculinity, femininity, and what kinds of things one should like, as well as the rigidity of the gender binary.

What is something you learned about patriarchy and what is something you would like to change about what you learned?
